Island living agrees with physiotherapist

Siobhan Boyle has a message for her fellow physiotherapists, wherever they may be:  move to Prince Edward Island!

The Quispamsis, NB native appreciates the work-life balance, the activities available on the Island, and the support of her coworkers, professionally and personally.

“I love the outdoors so summer is great, and there is always something going on, beautiful beaches to go to, and plays and performances,” she said.

“Family and friends always want to come visit me – that’s probably my favorite thing about living here.”

Even better, Boyle arrived on the Island in April 2012 as a single woman and is now engaged to be married.

“Things have worked out pretty well,” she said, grinning.

Boyle splits her time between working with outpatients and inpatients at the province’s main referral hospital in Charlottetown -- Queen Elizabeth Hospital – and at Kings County Memorial Hospital in Montague. She says she feels supported and there is always someone in her work space willing to help resolve any conflict or offer advice.

“We see a lot of different populations here, my coworkers are great, and we have new challenges every day.”

Health PEI is accepting applications for physiotherapists; for more information visit www.healthjobspei.ca.
