The Employment Development Agency receives applications year-round for seasonal positions available with organizations and government departments. Applicants must be residents of Prince Edward Island and meet program requirements. Positions may include flaggers, park workers, general labourers or forestry workers and are normally limited to 10 to 20 weeks. Students are invited to apply for summer positions using the registry.

How can I obtain employment?

When opportunities become available, this electronic database of applicants is searched based on geographical area, employee skills, and job requirements. It is important to provide as much information as possible on your application to be sure all qualified applicants are considered for employment.

When is the deadline to submit my application?

There is no deadline for applications to be submitted. Your application will be valid for one year after the date it is received.  

Complete one application only, even if you wish to apply to both offices.

I am a student. Can I find seasonal employment?

Seasonal student positions are available. 

How long will it take to complete the application?

Completing the form may take about 10-30 minutes depending on how much information you enter. You should have all supporting documents (for example: resume, certificates, reference letters etc.) ready to upload. 

You must complete the application process in one sitting. You cannot save the form but you can print a copy of the information you are providing before you submit.

What happens to my application after I apply?

The seasonal hiring office forwards applications to the various departments where the seasonal job exists. If you qualify for an interview, you will be contacted directly by the department.

Your application will be screened for seasonal jobs based on the information you provide. To help staff determine your suitability for a job, provide as much information as you can.
