2026 Seniors' Secretariat Grant
As part of its mandate, the Department of Social Development and Seniors, in collaboration with the PEI Seniors’ Secretariat, provides the Seniors’ Secretariat grant funding program to ensure that eligible organizations have opportunities to apply for funding for projects that enhance the well-being of older adults.
These projects must address one or more priorities of the Seniors’ Secretariat. Examples of these priorities include promoting positive images of aging, improving financial security, enhancing social connection, supporting intergenerational activities, promoting age-friendly communities and practices, and improving personal safety.
Is my organization eligible to apply?
The following are examples of organizations that are eligible to apply:
- Clubs and organizations that serve seniors and/or Indigenous elders.
- Non-profit organizations.
- Community-based coalitions and networks.
- Municipal governments.
How many applications can my organization submit?
Organizations can submit up to two funding applications for two separate projects. Each application can request up to $5,000.
Is there anything that my organization needs to do before applying?
Prior to applying, organizations should review the Seniors’ Secretariat Grant funding guidelines. Applications that do not adhere to the guidelines will not be considered for funding.
How can my organization apply?
Organizations must use the Seniors’ Secretariat Grant application template to apply for funding.

When is the deadline for applications?
Applications for the 2026-2027 funding cycle must be submitted by Monday, March 9, 2026, at 4:00pm.
When will I know if my organization is receiving funding?
All applicants, whether successful or not, will be notified by letter and/or email regarding the funding decision. These notifications are expected to occur by June 30, 2026.
