Legislature to be Prorogued, Speech from the Throne to be Introduced

Hon. Rob Lantz, 34th Premier of Prince Edward Island, issued the following statement:

“Following a meeting of Executive Council, Cabinet has passed a resolution to prorogue the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island and reconvene on March 24, 2026, commencing with a Speech from the Throne delivered by His Honour, Dr. Wassim Salamoun.

The Speech from the Throne will outline our government’s priorities moving forward— strengthening our healthcare system, ensuring energy security, improving affordability for Island families, and taking responsible action on land use and protection.

Islanders expect steady leadership, clear direction, and results. That is what this next session will deliver.”
