New visitor restrictions added for Health PEI facilities

Effective immediately, Health PEI is restricting all visitors to its facilities to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Exceptions apply for palliative patients, intensive care, neonatal intensive care, obstetric and pediatric units. In these units, only ONE designated visitor is permitted - a member of the patient's immediate family OR their care partner within the hospital.

All long-term care facilities continue to fully restrict visitors.

Additionally, anyone who has traveled outside of Canada and has returned since March 8 is restricted from visiting patients for 14 days following their return.

We are assessing this situation daily and additional restrictions to visitors may be put in place. Continue to monitor www.princeedwardisland.ca/en/topic/covid-19 for up-to-date information.
