Publication type:
Guidelines

All mammals are thought to be susceptible to rabies, a fatal zoonoses caused by a Lyssavirus. While rabies occurrence is a rare event in PEI, the objective of the PEI Domestic Animal Rabies Exposure Guideline is to provide guidance in the event of a possible animal rabies exposure to domestic animals. If you suspect a domestic animal rabies exposure please contact the Provincial Veterinarian (902) 368-5660.
