There is a form to become an official candidate for Mayor or Councillor.  

Oath of elector for is to be filled out at an advanced election day or election day for the following circumstances:

The Municipal Elector Officer must publish the Notice of Nomination Election  (can be modified for a By-Election) in at least one print format (Posters, newspaper, or newsletter) and one electronic format (website, Facebook, e-newsletter).

A Returning Officer must make a declaration in front of the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) that they will faithfully and impartially perform their duties in the administration of the election.
