The 2005 Prince Edward Island Provincial Budget was presented by the Hon. Mitch Murphy, Provincial Treasurer and Chair of Treasury Board, at 7:00 p.m. on April 7, 2005.

A point-of-sale rebate of the PEI component of the HST paid on heating oil, children’s clothing, children’s footwear and books will be provided.

This guide provides information on the point-of-sale rebate of the nine per cent PEI component of the HST.

The Budget was restated by the Provincial Treasurer, the Hon. Patricia J. Mella, to reflect the reorganization of departments, at 8:00 p.m. on May 23, 2000.

The Estimates represent the financial plan of the province for the fiscal year commencing April 1, 2002, and are presented by the government in support of its request to the Legislative Assembly for authority to spend public monies.
