About the special situation fund for individuals

The COVID-19 Special Situation Fund for Individuals provided up to $1,000 to Islanders who have experienced urgent income loss as a result of COVID-19 and are not eligible for other federal and provincial funding support. This was a temporary program put in place to support Islanders that have been significantly affected by COVID-19 and have an urgent need.

With recently announced federal and provincial COVD-19 programs and the gradual reopening of businesses, services and public spaces, the special situation fund for individuals closed on May 8, 2020.

All current applications will be processed and Islanders with approved applications will be contacted directly.

If your income has been impacted by COVID-19 and you are having difficulty finding a program that's right for you, you can still contact us to be connected to other provincial government COVID-19 supports. Email
