When do I have to submit my pre-study report?
You can submit your Pre-Study Report as early as the first day of your program. If you are attending a two-semester program that started in September, your pre-study report must be received by March 18 for it to be processed. If you are in another program, submit your report no later than six weeks prior to the study end date.

If you plan to appeal your assessment, submit your completed application for appeal no later than six weeks before the end of your study period. You must submit your pre-study report and any supporting documentation prior to your appeal being reviewed.

What is the deadline to apply for a part-time student loan/grant?

Completed part-time applications must be submitted a minimum of three weeks prior to the end date of study of your program or course. Please note: Loans cannot be awarded for periods of study which have already passed.

Employment Insurance and Career Connect

If you qualify to receive student assistance funding from PEI Student Loan Program, you must report your employment insurance  (EI) funding in your student loan application or pre study report. On your student assistance application, EI is viewed as a resource. Please note that the tentative provincial student loan amount issued in the first assessment is subject to change when we process your pre study report.

Documentation
You will need to provide us with proof of your EI income; you can obtain a printout of your EI funding amounts, the date your funding started and the date it will end, plus the dates on which you received/will receive funding from Service Canada. If you need help with this service to download a report, please contact Service Canada.

Master Student Financial Services Agreement (MSFAA)

You must complete a MSFAA in order for your funding to be released. You will not receive any student loan funding until a valid MSFAA is completed and processed.
