Community Renewable Energy
The Government of Prince Edward Island wants to assist Island communities with sustainable community development through community-based renewable energy generation. Through building cleaner communities, we can reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and build a more sustainable province, as we work towards our target of net-zero emissions by 2040. Building on the Sustainable Communities Initiative, the Community Renewable Energy Generation Fund (CREG) will advance six to ten local, community-driven projects to generate cleaner and greener power, annually.
