ATVs on select western PEI roads this weekend

Motorists are advised that all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and side-by-sides will be travelling on select public roads in Western Prince Edward Island for the Red Dirt Ride.

ATVs may be present on the following roads during the event:

  • Mill River Resort Road
  • Mill Road
  • Howland Road
  • Division Line Road
  • Fulton Road
  • Halberton Road
  • Strang Road
  • Ocean View Road
  • Doyle Road
  • O’Halloran Road
  • Blanchard Road
  • Dock Road
  • Old Tom Road
  • Murray Road
  • Piusville Road
  • Botts Road
  • Adams Road
  • Centerline Road
  • Shields Road
  • Union Road
  • Palmer Road
  • Deblois Road

Dates: 

Saturday, February 7 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Traffic: 

Drivers are asked to use caution, watch for ATVs, and expect slower-moving traffic in the areas listed above. Traffic cones will be installed at trail entry and exit points where ATVs may interact with highway traffic.

Safety: 

  • Traffic should reduce speed and be prepared to stop.
  • Plan ahead to reach your destination on time.
  • Reduce speed in the area.
  • Remember, speeding and using your phone while driving, even when you’re waiting in traffic, are against the law.
