Arsenault, Hon. Gilles

Gilles Arsenault has contributed to his community throughout his career, working for nearly thirty years as a teacher, school principal, President of the PEI Teachers’ Federation (PEITF), and Superintendent of the Commission scolaire de langue française (CSLF).

He has owned and operated several business ventures and has chaired the boards of the Évangéline Rec Centre and the Évangéline Co‑op Funeral Home. He served on the Abram‑Village municipal council, was Vice‑President of the Organizing Committee for Jeux d’Acadie, and is an active volunteer with the Acadian Festival.

Mr. Arsenault was elected as the MLA for District 24, Évangéline–Miscouche, on April 3, 2023. He has served as Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Trade; Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Action; and Minister Responsible for Acadian and Francophone Affairs. In February 2026, he was sworn in as Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Artificial Intelligence.

Gilles and his wife, Leonie, live in Abram‑Village with their sons André, Alain, and Martin.
