Mary began her career with the provincial government in 1998 and has developed a specialty working in economic development and workforce advancement portfolios. Throughout her 25+ years in government, she has led numerous strategic initiatives, including the negotiations and devolution of labour market programs from the federal government to the provincial government.

She has held a variety of impactful roles, including serving as the Executive Director for the federal-provincial-territorial Forum of Labour Market Ministers (FLMM) from 2013 to 2015. From 2018 to 2020, Mary served as the Director of Immigration. In 2020, she returned to the Department of Workforce, Advanced Learning and Population, taking on the role of Executive Director of Workforce Development. Since 2020, Mary has led consultations with industries, organizations, stakeholders, employers, and communities to develop collaborative strategic work plans and key initiatives for the Province.

Mary holds a Bachelor of Integrated Studies degree from the University of Prince Edward Island. She resides in Prince County with her husband Kevin and two sons, Kale and Cameron.
