The Honourable Barb Ramsay was sworn in as Minister of Social Development and Seniors on April 14, 2023, following her election as MLA for District 22, Summerside-South Drive, on April 3, 2023. In February 2026, she was sworn in as Minister responsible for the Status of Women.
Barb has worked for the people of District 22, Summerside-South Drive, in many ways throughout her life. She has been a Youth Addictions Counsellor with the Youth Justice facility and Strength Program, and she has worked as a Patient Care Nurse with the medical and palliative units at Prince County Hospital.
Twice elected to Summerside City Council, Barb has been the Council representative for emergency services and Co-Chair of the Planning Committee.
A mom of two and grandmother to six, Barb is proud to call District 22, Summerside-South Drive, home.
