Advisory Council on the Status of Women
The Interministerial Women’s Secretariat is seeking applications from Island residents interested in serving on the Advisory Council on the Status of Women. The role of the Council is to promote awareness and affect change, in the public and in government, on issues impacting the status of women. The primary role of Council includes:
- Develop public awareness of the issues affecting the status of women;
- Advise the Minister with respect to such issues as the Minister may refer to the Council for consideration;
- Review policies and legislation affecting women and report its findings to the relevant governmental departments or agencies;
- Provide assistance to the Minister in promoting changes to ensure the attainment of equality objectives of women; and
- Provide assistance, as the Council deems appropriate, to organizations and groups whose objectives promote the equality of women.
Members are appointed to serve terms of up to 3 years and are eligible for reappointment for a second term.
The Council meets at least four (4) times per year and an additional time commitment may be required to perform research tasks.
Members receive $109 per meeting and the Chairperson receives $161 per meeting. Travel and necessary costs are reimbursed for members of the Council.

Alberton Housing Authority
The Prince Edward Island Housing Corporation is currently seeking applications from Islanders interested in serving on the Alberton Housing Authority.
The role of the Housing Authority in each region is to provide guidance and oversight on the day-to-day management of its respective housing units. There are Housing Authorities established in the following PEI communities: Alberton, Charlottetown area, Georgetown, Montague, Mount Stewart, O'Leary, Souris, Summerside and Tignish.

Regulated Health Professions Councils

The role of Regulated Health Profession Councils is to regulate the practice of the health profession, participate in discipline proceedings and other duties. As a public representative, your role helps provide accountability to the public for the regulated health professions.
