Waste Watch
Prince Edward Island is a leader in waste management thanks to participation by residents, employees and business owners. Waste Watch is a mandatory waste management system for the entire province. It is managed by the Island Waste Management Corporation, a Crown Corporation.
In most cases, household waste can be filtered through three different streams:
- Paper Recycling + Non-Paper Recycling
- Compost
- Waste
However, there are items that are never collected curbside. These items require special disposal.
You can use the Interactive Sorting Guide through the IWMC website.
If you have questions regarding The Waste Watch Program, please contact our customer service team.
IWMC encourages residents to download the Recycle Coach App for information on sorting and collection days. This app is free and is available through any smart device.
IWMC is also a part of the NuWelcom App, which offers collection information in 15 languages.
