Alberton Community Health Centre project tendered
Site work has been tendered for the new West Prince Community Health Centre – a project that will combine primary care with space for a range of community-based health services.
The Department of Health and Wellness will issue a tender October 5 for ground-breaking and site preparation on the facility that will house a multidisciplinary Community Health Centre. This preliminary site work will allow construction of the facility to begin in the spring of 2022.
“This project will further the work done to enhance the availability of locally-available community-based health services for residents of Western Prince Edward Island. The start of site work moves us one step closer to the opening of this highly-anticipated facility.”
- Health and Wellness Minister Ernie Hudson
Once fully operational, the facility will house a range of primary care and mental health and addiction services serving Alberton and West Prince as a whole.
“Collaborative teams like the one we are building here provide a platform that brings primary care close to where Islanders live,” said Hudson. “Here we will see a whole range of health care professionals working together for the good of their patients. This collaborative approach is a good use of resources and an effective way of providing Islanders with care they need, when they need it.”
Tender packages will be available at: PEI Tenders and Procurement.
