Funding available to improve accessibility in the workplace

October 29, 2025

Businesses and organizations across PEI can access funding to improve accessibility in commercial and non-profit spaces to create more inclusive environments for employees and clients with disabilities.

The provincial government’s Workforce Adaptation Fund is coordinated through ResourceAbilities, a local non-profit, to ensure fair and effective support is provided for accessibility improvements. Organizations are eligible for up to a maximum of $50,000 annually to cover 80 per cent of eligible expenses.

“This funding will help businesses and non-profits across the Island remove barriers, support diverse talent, and become more welcoming. Partnering with ResourceAbilities to deliver this program is essential to expanding fair access to services and ensuring inclusive opportunities for everyone.”

— said Minister of Workforce, Advanced Learning and Population Jenn Redmond.

Consultations were completed between the province, ResourceAbilities and the AccessAbility Advisory Council to inform the development of the fund.

“At ResourceAbilities, we see every day how accessibility opens doors to opportunity,” said executive director, Devon Broome. “This fund will help businesses and community organizations remove barriers, foster inclusion, and build welcoming workplaces for Islanders of all abilities. We are proud to partner with the province to deliver a program that will create lasting change and advance equity across Prince Edward Island.”
