Haunting season at PEI heritage sites

September 23, 2025

The PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation invites Islanders to take part in a series of seasonal events at Beaconsfield Historic House and Orwell Corner Historic Village.

The two sites will host the following events throughout October:

  • Beaconsfield by Candlelight
    • Experience Beaconsfield as the sun goes down and the shadows grow long. Hear local ghost stories, meet the house’s most haunted artifact, Wheelie, and enjoy haunting ballads in the double drawing room.
    • Buy tickets online at Beaconsfield by Candlelight
  • Beaconsfield Victorian-Era Séance
    • Back for its final season, this immersive theatrical experience recreates a Victorian séance. Guests will also join a talk-back session to uncover the secrets behind the illusions and explore why spiritualism was so popular in the 19th century.
    • Buy tickets online at The Beaconsfield Séance
  • Kid’s Halloween Hauntacular – Orwell Corner Historic Village
    • A family-friendly afternoon of Halloween fun, featuring trick-or-treating along the village streets, hands-on magic potion classes, wagon rides, blacksmithing demonstrations, and more.
    • October 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Buy tickets online at Kid's Halloween Hauntacular

“These events bring together history, theatre, and a touch of Halloween magic,” said Matthew McRae, executive director, PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation. “From haunted evenings at Beaconsfield to family fun at Orwell Corner, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this season.”
