Islanders are invited to participate in pre-budget consultations taking place across Prince Edward Island next month.

Finance Minister Heath MacDonald is holding consultations on the 2019-2020 Budget both online and at four public meetings. The consultations provide Islanders, organizations and businesses an opportunity to provide ideas and feedback on the upcoming budget.

“Engaging the public is an important part of the budgetary process, it gives us the opportunity to hear first-hand what is most important to Islanders,” said Finance Minister Heath MacDonald. “We are committed to managing Island taxpayers’ money wisely and working together helps us to find ways to save and ways to continue to grow our economy.”

Feedback can be made online at Pre-Budget Consultations until February 22. In addition, dates and locations of the public meetings are as follows:

  • Tuesday, February 5, O’Leary (storm date February 6)
  • Thursday, February 7, Summerside (storm date February 8)
  • Tuesday, February 12, Charlottetown (storm date February 14)
  • Friday, February 15, Montague (Storm date February 19)

On site French interpretation services will be available at the Summerside session.
