The next generation of PEI’s agriculture industry now has a new resource to help navigate supports that can help establish and grow farm businesses.

Through Next Generation Farming PEI, the Department of Agriculture is offering new and young farmers across the province access to the tools and funding that can help launch a successful and sustainable career in agriculture.

The site serves as a starting point for producers to explore education, mentorship, and training opportunities, as well as key programs like the newly revamped Future Farmer Program 2.0. It also connects users to valuable resources such as FarmersTalk and AgriInsurance, helping to navigate the early stages of their farming journey with confidence.

“Just as we need to adopt sustainable practices for the next generation of Island growers, it's also our responsibility to equip them with the tools they need to begin their own journey. This new website works as a hub for young farmers as they explore opportunities in agriculture, setting them on the right path to grow their unique operations.”

— Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture Bloyce Thompson
