Hon. Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island issued the following statement after speaking with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

“This afternoon, I spoke with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to congratulate him on re-election and express my commitment to continue to work collaboratively with the federal government on shared priorities.
We discussed priorities such as childcare, climate change, investing in the cleantech sector, and the need to increase the Canada Health Transfer for provinces and territories to help improve healthcare across the country.  We also discussed ensuring that the work started before the election on the pharmacare program for Prince Edward Island continues in the weeks and months ahead.
I also reiterated my commitment to working with the four local Members of Parliament for Prince Edward Island – Lawrence MacAulay, Sean Casey, Heath MacDonald, and Bobby Morrissey – to get to work for Islanders on delivering on these priorities.”
