Province continues investments into rural PEI
Island community organizations, municipalities, and local development corporations are partnering with the province to help build inclusive, vibrant and resilient communities.
The Department of Fisheries and Communities, through the various streams of the Rural Growth Initiative, has committed over $1.2 million this year in 68 community projects. The funding will help communities adopt green energy solutions, upgrade common and recreational spaces, support cultural and social activities, invest in economic development and capacity initiatives, and enhance local emergency preparedness and resiliency.

Municipal governments, not-for-profit organizations and cooperatives, who are interested in partnering with the Department of Fisheries and Communities to build community capacity, revitalize local infrastructure, foster inclusive communities, or grow the local economy for the next fiscal period can contact their local community development officer by email RGPR-CPRMR@gov.pe.ca or by phone.
