Sabean joins Public Schools Branch board
Dale Sabean of Kensington has been appointed to the Public Schools Branch Board of Directors.
He brings years of education experience to the position as a former teacher, principal, school board administrator, and superintendent.
“Dale will be a valuable addition to the board,” said Education, Early Learning and Culture Minister Doug Currie. “His depth of educational knowledge, extensive experience, and excellent leadership skills will be an asset to the board and to our education system.”
Sabean served as superintendent of the former Western School Board from 2005 to 2011. Prior to this, he held senior positions with Nova Scotia’s Chignecto-Central Regional and Colchester-East Hants District school boards.
“I am both pleased and excited to be named a member of the board of directors for the Public Schools Branch,” Sabean said. “With a lengthy career in education and experiences as a teacher as well as a school and system administrator, I believe I can make a positive contribution to our schools, our staff, and, most importantly, our students across PEI.”
Minister Currie appointed Sabean to fill the position left vacant by the resignation of Pat Mella in April. His appointment became effective May 15.
