Some health services impacted by weather and road conditions

Due to inclement weather and road conditions, the following health services have been impacted as of noon:

• all primary care appointments at the Alberton, Tyne Valley and O’Leary Health Centres scheduled for this afternoon are cancelled;

• all public health nursing appointments in Prince County scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow morning are cancelled;

• all public health nursing appointments in Charlottetown scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow morning are cancelled;

• all public health speech language pathology appointments province-wide scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow are cancelled;

• all public health audiology appointments province-wide scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow are cancelled;

• public health dental clinic appointments in Charlottetown and Summerside scheduled for tomorrow are cancelled; and

• Women’s Wellness Program appointments for tomorrow are cancelled;

Cancelled patient appointments will be rescheduled.

Health PEI reminds Islanders with appointments at hospitals, clinics and other health care services to please call ahead to confirm their appointment – or notify staff if they are unable to make the appointment.

Updates will continue to be provided as health programs and services are impacted.

Islanders are also reminded to call 8-1-1 for non-urgent health care advice or 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
