Statement by Minister Gilles Arsenault on International Francophonie Day

Hon. Gilles Arsenault, Minister Responsible for Acadian and Francophone Affairs issued the following statement on International Francophonie Day:
“International Francophonie Day has been recognized globally on March 20 since 1970. It is a day to celebrate the French language, culture and heritage.
Today is an opportunity to learn more about the Francophonie in Canada and in PEI. Our Acadian and Francophone community is diverse, vibrant and integral to the social fabric of our beautiful province. It enriches our cultural diversity and fosters meaningful intercultural exchanges.
Our government is committed to preserving and promoting the French language in the province, ensuring its continued growth and vitality for future generations.
I encourage all Islanders to discover our vibrant community and learn more about our language and culture by attending activities of the Rendez-vous de la Francophonie happening throughout the month of March.
Happy International Francophonie Day!”
