Summer food security program open for registration
The summer food security program is open for registration for families in need of support.
Precooked meals that can be reheated are available for any Island family facing challenges in securing healthy food for their children. Registration is required and meals will be delivered to families at their homes in all areas of the province.
“We have been working diligently to support Island families in need in as many ways possible. This program supports the health and wellness of Island children along with helping to reduce financial challenges on families.”
- Social Development and Housing Minister Brad Trivers
Meals will be delivered twice a week every Wednesday and Friday between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Each registered child will receive three meals on Wednesday and four meals on Friday. The program begins July 7 and runs until September 3, 2021.
