Suggest a Purchase for the Public Library

The PEI Public Library Service welcomes the public's suggestions for materials that we should consider adding to our collection. Before submitting a suggestion, double check our online catalogue to see if the Library already has a copy of the title. 

What kinds of items can I recommend for purchase?

When completing the online form, you must choose from one of the following formats:

• Book
• eBook
• eAudiobook
• DVD
• Other (use for specialty library items)

The Library does not accept suggestions for materials that are not already published/released. These suggestions will not be processed.

How to a submit a suggestion?

• In order to submit a suggestion, you must have a PEI Public Library card and you must be signed into your account on our online catalogue.
• You can access the suggestion form by clicking on the Send a Request link at the top of the online catalogue's home page.
• Patrons may only have three suggestions active at a time. Each submission must be for a single title - i.e. do not include multiple suggestions on one form.

How will I know if my suggestion has been accepted?

• The Library will respond to suggestions as soon as possible. It can take up to 7-14 days before a decision is made.
• Decisions on submitted suggestions can be found under your account on our online catalogue. Click on My Account to sign into your account, and then click on the Requests tab to see the status of your suggestion.
