Islanders get easier access to government services with new QEH pilot
Families, patients, and healthcare workers at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) will soon have more convenient access to some government services through a new pilot that brings Access PEI directly onsite.
Starting this month, services will be offered twice a month until April, with the possibility of extension. People can complete services such as vehicle registrations and renewals with help from Access PEI staff.
“This pilot is about reducing barriers and making everyday tasks a little easier during busy or stressful times. By offering Access PEI services at QEH, Islanders have a convenient way to get things done without leaving the hospital.”
— Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Ernie Hudson.
This initiative builds on other recent efforts to bring government services closer to home, including Access PEI mobile clinics in communities across the province, ensuring Islanders can get support where and when they need it.
The full schedule of Access PEI’s onsite visits at the QEH is available at Access PEI Locations.
The provincial government and Health PEI will monitor the pilot over the coming months to identify future opportunities across PEI.
