2026 Seniors Community Meal Grant

Published date: August 11, 2026

The Department of Social Development and Seniors (SDS) is committed to finding ways to promote access to healthy meals and reduce social isolation for seniors. The Seniors Community Meal Grant provides funding to eligible organizations to assist with the costs of providing free, communal meals to seniors.

The Seniors Community Meal Grant helps to create new community meal programs or increase capacity in existing community meal programs for seniors. Meals must be free for seniors and can be provided at a one-time event or at re-occurring events.

How do I find out where community meals are being held?

A list of upcoming community meals is included below. For any questions, or to register for a particular meal event, seniors are encouraged to contact the organization hosting the meal directly.
