Renew a Community Care or Nursing Home License

License renewal applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the expiry of your current license.  Operators are responsible for keeping all required inspections up to date including Building, Fire, Electrical, Boiler, Environmental Health and Elevator (if applicable). 

What information is required on the notification?

  • Type of license you are renewing
    • Community Care Facility
    • Nursing Home
    • Dual Facilities
  •  Facility Information
    • Current license number
    • Date license was issued
    • Total number of beds
    • Outline any alterations in the facility since the previous application
    • Copy of the insurance certificate which clearly outlines insurance requirements in accordance with Operational and Care Service Standards for both Community Care Facilities and Private Nursing Homes. (upload available or documents can be sent directly to the Department of Health and Wellness to the address below)
    • Full payment of all required fees, either by credit card using the online payment service on the online form or by cheque sent separately through the mail.

How much does it cost to renew a license?

The Community Care Facilities and Nursing Homes Board is unable to issue any license renewals until the prescribed fee and Certificate of Insurance is received with the standard information included.

Community Care Facility $25.00.
Nursing Home $25.00.
Dual Facilities $50.00.
