Renew your Education Assistant (Substitute Only) Authorization

You must be authorized each year in order to substitute for an educational assistant in Prince Edward Island. Certification is valid until June 30 of the current school year and must be renewed each year. You can click the button below to renew your certification online.

If you are applying for the first time, you must complete the Application for a Substitute Only Educational Assistant Authorization. 

What do I need to complete the online application?

No documentation is required with a renewal form. You will need to submit your Criminal Background Check and the Vulnerable Sector Screen to the school board at a later date.

What is the fee to renew my permit?

As of April 1, 2020, there is no charge for this service.

How long will it take to process my application?

Your renewed permit will be mailed to you within ten business days.
