Renew your Temporary Permit to Substitute for a Teacher (Non-Certified)

You must be authorized each year to substitute for a licensed teacher in Prince Edward Island if you do not hold a valid PEI teacher’s licence. Your temporary permit is valid until June 30 of the current school year and must be renewed each year. You can click the button below to renew your temporary permit online.

What do I need to complete the online application?

You will need to submit your Criminal Background Check and the Vulnerable Sector Screen with your application.

What is the fee to renew my permit?

As of April 1, 2020, there is no charge for this service.

How long will it take to process my application?

Your renewed permit will be mailed to you within ten business days.
