PEI Electric Vehicle Charger Funding Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligible applicants must be incorporated entities (both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations) on PEI.  This includes but is not limited to: Indigenous First Nations and organizations, municipal governments or their departments or agencies, community organizations, electrical utilities, companies/businesses, industry associations, research associations, standards organizations, or academic institutions.  
  2. Rebates are for new and purchased (not leased) equipment only, certified for use in Canada, must be a permanent installation (mounted or fixed models)
  3. Rebates must be for new installation or the expansion of existing installation, not for the replacement of an existing installation.
  4. Products installed must be connected charging stations that can communicate with the cloud through cellular signal and must be an eligible technology certified for use in Canada.
  5. The project must increase localized charging opportunities in public places, on-street, in multi-unit residential buildings, at workplaces or for light-duty vehicle fleets, and have the work performed in compliance with all applicable local codes and bylaws.
  6. The project must target general public use and must be installed in a parking space clearly identified for the purpose of charging electric vehicles
  7. Rebates cannot be combined with any other efficiencyPEI offer and are subject to change without notice.
  8. Program funding is limited and will be allocated by efficiencyPEI in a manner that best serves the intent of funding. 
  9. efficiencyPEI may at its sole discretion, approve or reject any rebate at any time.
  10. Pre-approval is required for every rebate.
  11. The applicant must provide proof of ownership, or proof of access to the land being used and must submit all information deemed necessary by efficiencyPEI to adequately review the rebate request.
  12. The Applicant will provide efficiencyPEI with reasonable access during normal business hours to the Installation Address to inspect the product installation. efficiencyPEI reserves the right to withhold, revise or reclaim any rebate until it has performed a satisfactory post-installation verification. 
  13. efficiencyPEI does not guarantee the performance of installed equipment expressly or implicitly.
  14. efficiencyPEI does not endorse any manufacturers, products, or system designs in promoting this program.
  15. Incomplete applications will not be approved, and applicants will be required to submit a completed application.
  16. Total funding from all levels of government cannot exceed 75% of total project costs (unless the applicant is a municipal government in which their stacking limit is 100% of total costs).  
  17. Rebates can only be paid directly to the Organization/applicant. Receipts or paid invoice will be required to receive a rebate.
  18. I/We certify that all equipment for which I/We am requesting a rebate will be installed within 6 months of pre-approval, that the products meet the eligibility requirements for rebates, and that all information submitted as part of this application is correct to the best of my knowledge.
  19. I/We are completely responsible for the quality and adequacy of any upgrades approved for rebates or services provided, which includes the responsibility for ensuring compliance with any and all applicable regulatory requirements, including any building code, electrical code, safety code, municipal bylaw or provincial or federal regulation or statute, and in no event shall the Government of PEI be liable to anyone in whole or in part for the upgrades or any part of the upgrades, including any loss or claim by anyone that may result from the upgrades.
  20. The program will not cover any cost overruns and it will be up to the applicant to complete the project in a responsible and timely manner.  If the applicant fails to complete the project as originally approved, or abandons the project prior to completion, funds incurred will not be reimbursed.
