Recently approved amendments to provincial regulations will improve highway safety.

“This week government approved a number of regulatory changes to harmonize our regulations with other provinces and make compliance simpler for users of our highway system,” said Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Paula Biggar.

The amended regulations address standards that lay out specific requirements for the manufacturing of steel strapping for cargo securement, brake fluid, slow moving vehicle signs, glazing materials on motor-homes and recreational vehicles as well as bicycle helmets.

“By maintaining up-to-date regulations, we ensure our legislation and regulated standards continue to meet the needs of the traveling public,” Minister Biggar said. “These amendments are another example of our government researching and modernizing regulations to reflect updated manufacturing standards that will make our roads safer.”
