MacAusland’s Woolen Mill

Dream Weavers
It would be hard to find a home or a cottage on Prince Edward Island that hasn’t had a MacAusland Blanket draped on a couch at some point. For more than 80 years the family owned and operated west prince business has been warming people with cozy 100% virgin wool blankets.
When it was time to upgrade the weaving looms at the MacAusland’s Woolen Mills, the PEI government understood the importance of assisting one of the longest-operating businesses in the province.
The provincial government is providing $10,000 under the Capital Assistance Acquisition Program to support the cost of the new equipment. The ACOA Business Development Program is contributing a repayable contribution of up to $150,000.
MacAusland’s will purchase and install two modern textile weaving looms so they can continue to operate their core business, which is to make the traditional woolen blankets. The investment will also help the 5th generation company remain competitive. Modernizing and expanding production of these authentic handcrafted products will further strengthen the local economy and demonstrate government’s plan to enhance PEI exports and grow our economy.
