Swearing-In Ceremony at Legislative Assembly Chamber

The Honourable H. Frank Lewis, Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Island and the Honourable Francis (Buck) Watts, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, will be in attendance at a swearing-in ceremony for new member Chris Palmer, MLA for District 21: Summerside–Wilmot, on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 3:30 p.m., in the Legislative Assembly Chamber, Honourable George Coles Building, Charlottetown.

Prior to assuming a designated seat on the floor of the House, all Members must swear, or solemnly affirm, the Oath of Allegiance as required in the Constitution Acts 1867 to 1982, Section 128. Pursuant to direction received from His Honour, the Lieutenant Governor, this Oath will be administered by the Clerk and Clerk Assistant of the Legislative Assembly. The new Member will swear that he will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada, Her Heirs and Successors according to law.
