Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is an important and effective planning tool for predicting the potential environmental consequences of proposed developments. It is a means to identify unwanted effects before they occur and determine appropriate mitigation measures.
Results from a collaborative engagement approach to hear from people on Prince Edward Island, Indigenous communities, municipalities, industry and experts about the impacts of climate change that they were most concerned with and actions proposed to address those impacts.
Feedback received through input from hundreds of Islanders and over 60 community, energy and environmental stakeholders about the future of energy in PEI has been compiled in this PEI Energy Blueprint - What We Heard Report.
As stipulated in the Net-zero Carbon Act, the Minister shall prepare a report on climate change risks and progress made toward targets, beginning with a report for 2021 and continuing with a report for each
PEI has recently completed a province-wide Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA).
