Organic Industry Development Program

GF2 programs are now fully committed for the 2016/2017 fiscal year.

Applicants wishing to apply for 2017/2018 fiscal year should contact the Program Administrator.

The Organic Industry Development Program assists with projects that encourage growth in the organic sector and yield positive economic benefits to the PEI agriculture industry.

The program has four subprograms:

  1. Increasing Market Competiveness;
  2. Specialized Equipment;
  3. Certified Organic Land Conversion; and
  4. Implementation of Strategic Initiatives

Who is eligible?

Applicants must be certified organic or have applied to a certification body and participated in an inspection.

When does the program end?

This program is effective April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2018, and may be altered or discontinued without notice by the minister of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Additional Information:

The maximum allowable funding per applicant is $50,000 over this five-year Growing Forward 2 Program.     

Project costs incurred prior to the date of application submission will not be eligible for assistance.

Funding recipients are consenting to the public release of their name, the amount of funding received, and the general nature of the project.
