What is the application process?

Proposals must be received by November 12, 2024 (4:00 PM)  and must meet the eligibility requirements (see ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS above). Any submissions received after this, will not be considered.

Any proposals that do not meet the eligibility requirements will be immediately disqualified. Proposals will be assessed and graded on a point system based on the applicant’s ability to communicate how their project meets the objectives of the funding program as expressed by the assessment criteria. A review committee will assess all eligible proposals. All final funding decisions will be made by the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women. Successful applicants will be notified by the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women (November 25, 2024).

What do I need to include with my application package?

Your funding application must include the following:

  • completed application form.
  • all necessary attachments describing organizational and project information; and
  • detailed budget that clearly outlines all expenses and revenues for the project (this would include other sources of funding and/or in-kind support).

How do I submit my application?

Please submit your completed application form [live link] by 4:00 pm on November 12, 2024. All submissions are time stamped, and any submissions received after this will be disqualified. There is no need to submit a hard copy of your application this year; but we suggest you have a copy for your records to cut and paste from in case there are any challenges with submitting your electronic form (so you do not need to create a new application from scratch). List of questions in the live link.

Submitting a proposal does not guarantee funding. Not all qualified applications are guaranteed to receive funding. The total grant fund is $300,000 for all projects. The number of projects that can be supported and the degree of support a project receives will be determined by the program budget. These are one-time only grants. As determined by the adjudicating committee and upon final decision of the Minister Responsible for the Status of Women, approved funding amounts may be different from proposal amounts. Organizations with approved projects will be required to sign a project contract with the Interministerial Women's Secretariat.
