Islanders with intellectual disabilities will benefit from funding announced today that will enhance access to vocational and life skills training as well as life enrichment and support services delivered through Tremploy.
Founded in 1969, Tremploy is a nonprofit organization located in Charlottetown that supports adults with intellectual disabilities to succeed to their fullest potential.
“Whether it was through work experience or skill development, thousands of Islanders have benefitted from their experiences with Tremploy over the last 55 years. And beyond that, their services help clients better connect with their peers which can result in meaningful relationships that often create life-long connections and friendships.”
— Minister of Social Development and Seniors Barb Ramsay
The Department of Social Development and Seniors is providing just over $904,000 in core funding to support the organization this year.
