Annual open house announced

Their Honours the Honourable H. Frank Lewis, Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island and Mrs. Dorothy Lewis are once again welcoming everyone to the annual Government House Christmas Open House at Fanningbank.  This long-standing tradition gives Islanders the opportunity to view traditional and contemporary decorations and listen to live seasonal music inside the 182 year-old vice-regal residence.  Their Honours will be at the door to welcome guests and each will receive a Canada 150 commemorative pin.

The 2016 open house will be held on Wednesday, November 30 from 12:30 to 2:30 pm and 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There is no admission charge. The viewing areas of Government House are wheelchair accessible.  Parking is available on the grounds for those with mobility limitations.  Other visitors are kindly requested to park outside of Fanningbank.

Their Honours are again happy to announce Ms. Shelly Campbell as head of decorating.  Ms. Campbell, curator of the Bideford Parsonage Museum, will be aided by Her Honour and Government House staff.  Music from the Canada Remembers Chorus under the direction of Darragh Mogan is featured in the afternoon, while the evening music will be provided by the Teachers in Harmony and Friends Choir under the direction Nancy Thornton-Smyth.
