Annual Open House Announced

Her Honour the Honourable Antoinette Perry, Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island is welcoming everyone to the annual Government House Christmas Open House at Fanningbank.  This tradition of opening the house to Islanders provides the opportunity to view decorations and listen to live seasonal music inside the vice-regal residence.

The 2017 open house will be held on Monday, December 4 and Her Honour will greet guests from 12:00 to 2:00 pm and 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There is no admission charge. The viewing areas of Government House are wheelchair accessible and parking is available on the grounds for those with mobility limitations.

The decorating of the house this year was, once again, placed in the hands of Ms. Shelly Campbell, curator of the Bideford Parsonage Museum.

For this, Her Honour’s first Christmas Open House, she is delighted to welcome youth performances. The afternoon will feature seasonal music provided by Rachel Hamilton on piano from 12-1 pm followed by the Harmonia Girls’ Choir directed by Kelsea McLean and accompanied by Andrea Ellis from 1-2 pm.  The evening will feature the Confederation Centre Youth Chorus under the direction of Don Fraser.
