Double check your appointment time! X-Ray equipment replacement at QEH will have minor impacts on imaging schedule
Health PEI encourages Islanders to double check their appointment times and locations for X-rays at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). Three of four of the general X-Ray rooms at the QEH are having technology replaced, which will have minor impacts on scheduling.
Patients may notice their X-ray scans are scheduled in a different or unexpected location within the hospital. Diagnostic Imaging staff will be working evenings and weekends, so the volume of scans done at the hospital should be minimally unaffected.
Imaging equipment is being replaced in Ambulatory Care, the Emergency Department, and the Diagnostic Imaging department. At no point will X-ray services be unavailable at QEH.
The work begins this week with the X-ray equipment in Ambulatory Care. All work is expected to be completed in 16 weeks.
