Island residents are invited to share their feedback on the future of publicly funded child care services

PEI’s publicly managed child care system currently offers Island families care in four licensed environments. These include:

  • Early childhood centres;
  • Family home centres;
  • Preschool centres; and,
  • School-aged child centres.

“PEI has demonstrated itself as a leader among Canadian jurisdictions in developing a sustainable public model for child care,” said Minister of Education and Early Years Robin Croucher. “As we look to strategically enhance services across the Island, we want to hear from Island families, workers, and employers about their needs so that the system we are building can be both responsive and flexible for future growth.”

The child care survey will be open until November 28, 2025. Residents requiring assistance with the survey can also contact earlyyearspolicy@gov.pe.ca.
