Recreational fishing season opens April 15

For many Islanders, the unofficial start of spring is the opening of the angling season on April 15.

Fishing is an inexpensive and fun family activity, and more than 10,000 angling licenses are sold annually in Prince Edward Island. The number of people fishing is higher than this because children under 16 do not require a license.

Angling licenses can be purchased at local vendors across the province, at Access PEI sites and online
