Remember to call ahead on medical appointments

February 9, 2017

Due to inclement weather and road conditions predicted over the next 24 hours, Health PEI reminds Islanders with appointments at hospitals, clinics and other health care services to please call ahead to confirm their appointment – or notify staff if they are unable to make the appointment.

The following services have already been postponed for tomorrow and patient appointments are being rescheduled:

• The Prince County and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals have postponed morning ambulatory care appointments until 11:00 am on Friday morning. Patients are asked to call ahead prior to coming for any scheduled appointments.

• All Public Health and Family Nutrition appointments province wide have been rescheduled.

• All appointments at the Women’s Wellness Program at Prince County Hospital are being rescheduled.

Health PEI will continue to provide updates when health programs and services are impacted.

Islanders are also reminded to call 8-1-1 for non-urgent health care advice or 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency.
