Published date: December 11, 2025

Psychological services can play an important role in supporting children and their families. If you have concerns about your toddler, preschooler or kindergarten-aged child’s development, or if your child is experiencing behavioural or complex health needs, Pediatric Psychology Services may be helpful. A comprehensive psychological assessment may assist in providing a better understanding of your child, and help identify the right options for early intervention and/or consultation.

What services are offered?

  • Comprehensive diagnostic assessments for children (referred prior to starting grade one) who are suspected of having autism spectrum disorder;
  • Psychological assessments for preschool children who are not meeting developmental milestones and may have complex health needs;
  • Social ABCs Program is an early-intervention program that is available to parents and toddlers (up to age 36 months) who are referred for an autism assessment.
  • Triple P – Positive Parenting Programs are available to parents of children assessed in the clinic. The programs provide positive parenting strategies and support.

Will my child need a referral?

Yes. A referral from a pediatrician, speech language pathologist, or a psychologist is required before your child can been seen.

If you have concerns about your child and think these services can help, talk to your health care provider.
