Natural Products Appeals Tribunal

Responsible for hearing appeals of orders, directions or decisions made by commodity boards and marketing commissions and of orders, directions or regulations made by Marketing Council.

What is the function of the organization?

The functions of the Appeals Tribunal are to:

  • (a) hear appeals of orders and decisions of commodity boards and marketing commissions;
  • (b) to hear appeals of orders and directions of the Council; and
  • (c) to reconsider its decisions when requested to do so by the Minister.

Primary Role:  Adjudicative

Material Role:

  • Advisory 
  • Managerial/Oversight

How many people are on the organization?

Comprised of two persons who are knowledgeable in organized agricultural marketing and one person with experience in accounting.

Work & Experience Requirements
Knowledge of agriculture

Skills Required
Tribunal skills.

What are the nomination requirements?

Statutory Nomination Requirements
The Lieutenant Governor in Council shall appoint all members.

Will I get paid?

Chair - $161/diem and Members - $109/diem.

What is the time commitment of the organization?

Time commitments based on the frequency of appeals.

The term of office of a member of the Appeals Tribunal is three years and a member is eligible for reappointment.
